Deb Jeffray
Cool As Cabins was founded by Deb Jeffray, a local woman with a background in real estate and a head for business. She knows first-hand how tricky it can be to make space work when whānau is growing, life changes, or you're just trying to get ahead. That’s why she started Cool As Cabins, to give people more room to breathe, without breaking the bank.
Much of our business comes through word of mouth, with happy customers recommending Cool As Cabins to friends, family, and neighbours. Many of Deb’s customers have become loyal, repeat hirers - coming back whenever they or someone in their whānau needs extra space. Others choose us after seeing our cabins around the Eastern Bay and hearing the reputation behind them.

Making Life Easier for Local Communities
In May 2020, Deb had the idea of offering cabin hire in Whakatāne. Deb saw how tough things were getting for ordinary families. House prices were going up, rental properties were expensive and hard to find, more people were working from home, and people needed better options, fast.
So, she rolled up her sleeves and dove into designing warm, comfortable cabins she’d be proud for her own family to live in. By September that same year, her first cabin was delivered. Since then, Cool As Cabins has grown into a trusted name across the Eastern Bay.
